We usually like to get away for labor Day, but we just got back from an exhausting 2 weeks on the East Coast. It looks like this year, Labor Day will just be hanging out in the backyard!

I am so excited that you actually are putting Wilmington NC in your list of destinations since I live there myself. Its a great town! And I'm glad to see you are adding some towns on the east coast being that gas and the economy is killing all of our cash supplies.

I have Lhasa, Sansibar and Jamaica. They don't look as fancy as some of these above, but a couple of colors in patent leather are better looking than Dansko. Most importantly, they feel just heavenly on one's feet.

What does it say about me if I take both Crocs and Sofft flip flops when I travel? I love both brands. Yes, Crocs are ugly and make your feet look like boats, but you can't beat 'em at the beach or when hoofing it around Disney World.

And Sofft shoes....aaah. Couldn't live without 'em.

I think I am a foot-fashion disaster!

Thanks for your comment Catie! It does sound like there is plenty to keep the non-wine lover occupied. We really meant that comment more along the lines of "there is a LOT of wine stuff going on here" (which we love).

Sorry, but I couldn't help taking exception to this comment that appeared on the "Walla-Walla-Winery-Getaway" page. Even if you are not a fan of wineries there is still lots for the non-wine person to do. In the summer, there is a wonderful open air farmer's market. Lots of bike and hiking trails, golf courses, birding, great downtown shopping featuring unique shops and art galleries. Unique sculptures line the Main Street as well as in our many local parks and three college campuses. In fact, there are 17 local parks as well as the Fort Walla Walla Museum and also the Whitman Monument/Museum. Also, the Carnegie Art Center, Children's Museum, Kirkman House Museum, Orchidaceae (for the orchid collectors), several local theatres featuring live productions. Walla Walla is the home to the oldest symphony this side of the Mississippi. And if that isn't enough, we also have our annual Hot Air Balloon Stampede, Walla Walla County Fair, Macy's Christmas Light parade and other festivals throughout the year.

So perhaps your readers
should know that even if they are not fans of wineries, that Walla Walla is still a destination for the non-wine lover.
